Hi all, After being seriously ripped off with my last beetle i thought id start over.
I found this one owner beetle on the trading post web site. She's had a few bumps in her life was stolen in 1987 then recovered, I have the newspaper
story from that. the Little old lady kept a note pad for fuel repairs etc which was given to me too.
Genuine 40000 mile car.
I fitted the 2" narrowed adjustable beam and adjustable spring plates from my rat shit box also the 12 volt system. Ordered a 12v wiper armature from
Vintage Veedub plus a new ignition switch. Scott, Lee Noonan's son showed me how he modified his head lights to fit the indicators in them so i did
that mod yesterday and then welded up the indicator holes in the fenders looks so much better me thinks...finally got to fit my new wheels i got from
my lovely lady for xmas. Car is a pleasure to drive the gear box is smooth little underpowered (for now) 1200cc run like a dream. My future plans are
a full airkewld air ride kit body off restoration in original paint and replace the tan interior with a red TMI kit. then to drive and enjoy! Oh and
some more ponies
Cheers

Nice score man, good to see people are still finding these treasure's
You have seen the VW ad where the guys buys his golf from the little old lady . Seriously looks like a great buy
sounded like a really nice original car til the dropped beam and welding went onto it wish you'd done it do a bastardised bug instead.
Sounds like you need a cuddle are you ok?
One owner, 40 thousand miles, full history... have to agree with Esevwbits.
Its a new beam and a couple of holes welded up in the guards. All removable. Shessh guys they made 21 million of them I am sure there still out there. His money , His choice. Good to see it on the road and cared for. My2c

damn nice car. though i do think the air-ride and resto would ruin it.
looks nice with the rims and (though it goes against my no body mods on og cars thinking) the smoothed blinkers.
i must admit, i'm jelous. i'd love a 40k car with full history.
Hi chaps a little update on my 64. fitted new front guards i bought off ebay. swapped bonnet as the original had been clouted in the front and was
curled leaving big gaps on the sides of bonnet. fitted an Empi shifter to only replace that with a Vintage Speed one last weekend(plus heater and dash
knobs). I also made some LED side marker indicators clear and barely noticeable when off but glow orange when flashing. Also bought a JBE roller
throttle tube from Airkewld and some stickers and finally fitted some 2.5" dropped spindles.
heres some pics
Cheers

looks great! sand shoes look sweet with empies! love it!
Thanks chaps I love it too and it drives so good now with the drop spindles.
Hi chaps got a really cool birthday present the other day
And just ordered this Speedhut GPS speedometer with tacho. I used the options on the web site to choose this spec.
And this adapter from Das Resto to fit my fancy speedo in.
Cheers

loven the led blinkers!!!!
because the Speed hut gauge has no oil or battery light i've found these little suckers to put just below the fuel gauge. there quite small only
require a 6mm hole. red for battery and the amber for the oil.
theres a computer cut sign business straight across the road from me, convenient...will pull fuel gauge apart and get a black on white decal made so it matches my new speedo
sweet ride mate
Some updates.
Just drove my old bug from Aberdeen to Sunshine Coast qld and back with out a single hiccup awesome little car
Here's a picture of what my girl go me for Xmas. Wish I had it for the trip lol
And a picture of my new Speed hut GPS speedo/tachometer fitted it late this arvo will connect up tomorrow. I had to modify the Das resto parts adapter
slightly to Get it to fit guess it was made for a Kombi...no biggy.
My sons having some fun in the bug.
The old girl runs grey pipes on unleaded! Must be the flash lube lol
Cheers
