king/link pins
vwfive - June 16th, 2012 at 09:58 AM

Hi out there, wondering how hard it is and if the average tinkler can replace king pins and link pins themselves...or... is it wiser to take the assembly off and take it to a shop.Any thoughts and words of wisdom greatly appreciated.

You will need a adjustable reamer and guide of the correcr size and a hydraulic press to get them apart and to reassemble them

Hey thanks for the info seems like a shop is the go,I'm in Yeppoon Qld.So do you reckon a specialised VW guru or a front end specialist, depending on who's closer I guess.

Hey mate.

I'm located in Yeppoon. Would be happy to give you a hand to rebuild the front end in your car, it's something I've done before in my Baja, check out page 24 of my build thread.

I'll send you through a PM with my mobile number, always happy to help out fellow dubbers! Especially when they choose to live in a lovely place like Yeppoon.

Look forward to hearing from you.
