68 Beetle Resto - what are best replacement parts to buy?

My 68 beetle resto (to original) will need new floor pans and heater channels. Are Klokkerholm panels (like from Just Kampers) the best you can get locally? I'm not keen on importing from overseas as I do not know the quality of say Mexican and Brazillian parts.

I know many people have their preference on here. I live in Sydney.

I want to keep the bug as original as possible. Any advice gratefully accepted.

We buy our products off George at Classic Vee Dub and Al at Das Resto Parts.

Since you are in Sydney you are lucky that you are able to pop into the fantastic shop front. Al at Das Resto Parts will most certainly look after you and give you good service and shipping from the Gold Coast.

Go on the net and have a look in the states, most time's it is cheaper than buying the parts in Australia, just check the shipping costs.

^ as mentioned above, does not want to purchase overseas.

I think its great that people are willing to at least try and shop in their own backyard first. Have also been surpised to find some prices have been cheaper locally than O/S,

As you said in your original post about not wanting to import because you do not know the quality of the Mexican or Brazilian parts, you get exactly the same parts here in Australia, I no longer buy from sellers in Australia because of the average service and the cost. always check what you can get it for in the States, normally arrives within six days. just requires a bit of research.

Yeah done that. For small parts no problem, but I need floor pans and heater channels which are bulky items. Not a lot of the US companies declare where their parts are coming from so it could be a bit of a shock when getting poor quality Brazilian floor pans which I can probably buy here!]

Yes they do , you can get the danish made pans from the states quite cheap, a full half pan for my ghia cost $135 US, I just pick up the phone, i do it all the time, just go to a site were you get the options with the way it is sent, so far i have never had a problem with al the parts i have imported.
