944 porsche suspension
lakey - October 23rd, 2012 at 06:16 AM

:cool:I am wanting to fit 944 suspension and discs on my 64 bug.
I have been told the metal trailing arms fit straight on.
But I have also been told I could fit the early aluminium arms but I dont want to increase the track to much. I have been told two years only, what years? I know not to get turbo ones. Can anybody help me please. I want to make sure before I buy the.
Thanks Paul

The metal Rear trailing arms are the same as Bug ones and fit but being a 64 you are going to have to convert to IRS first unless it's already converted?

If you want alloy arms then 1986 Turbo arms are the only ones that will work without large track increases. And as Joel says - it needs to be an IRS pan.

They come up on ebay occasionally in the US, but most seem to be wanting big $$$ for 'em in Aus...
