Some good Kombi footage here:-

Nice film Greg. But as usual, the arty producers made some mistakes.
The VW Transporter started production in 1950, not 1949. Only the prototypes were shown in 1949.
"after 63 years on sale it's the second most iconic VW to ever travel the roads, surpassed only by the legendary air-cooled Beetle." I disagree.
Since the Golf has passed 30 million, with another 10 million Jettas based on it, the Golf has surpassed both the Beetle and Transporter.
'Once these come off the production line, the Kombi is not being replaced." Totally wrong. VW replaced the T2 with the T3 in 1979, and replaced that
with the T4 in 1991, and replaced that with the T5 in 2003. And will replace the T5 with the T6 in a couple of years.
While it might be the end of the Volkswagen 'Type 2', it's NOT the end of the Transporter, the Kombi, the Microbus or the Camper. They are just T5
versions now. And yes, they ARE Kombis. VW makes a version of the T5 specifically with that name.

In my opinion the word 'iconic' means something.
The air cooled Beetle is definitley the most iconic VW. Recognisable at a glance by far more than any other vehicle.
The T1 and T2 I am unsure which would come second, however combined they are definitley second.
