So..........
. I'm looking for somewhere highly recommended to evaluate and repair my van. It will be pretty serious, possibly a write off :'(
My insurance allows me to choose where I take it.
. I'm in Newcastle, but happy to send it to Sydney. There are plently of great VW business, i just don't know how many want to take on the vanagon.
What happened Nils do you have a bingle ?????? in the T3
Afraid so mate, the great alpine road coming into bright. A 100kg of dear decided it wanted to come home with us. I'm on my phone only, which is
useless at uploading photo. But its pretty bad
you're in the auto industry in newy, anyone you can recommend?
Bugga, she was a nice van and they are damn strong when it comes to repairing them. Sorry I can't help with recommendations except calling some better vee dub shops, I know Mike at VVDS has one, maybe they could advise you

Ouch, I've hit wildlife in my T3 and was very surprised at the lack of damage, that was some hit.
Good luck with the repair
I think the photo doesn't show the depth very well, the impact point one the centre beam is well past the radiator and pushing into the air tunnel, I
imagine this is what has caused the floor to be wobbly.
That beam being attached to the ''A'' pillars is probably why the door is off.
Fingers crossed the subframe hasn't even notice what has happened above it.
Where is the lower grill and passenger indicator? It wasn't on the road, probably disappeared into the same wormhole the deer came out of
Sorry to hear this Nils but am glad you are OK. Hope it repairs well!
It should be easy to fix! I could do it no problems. It would just take time.
Thanks guys,
helbus, I think you are right. The metal pieces can all be pulled straight or replaced. Stripping the whole dash and all that goes with it the getting
hold of all the plastic bits that have been destroyed will be a pain.
what do you think? Get away with a sub 10K repair?

That's not good mate, hope all is fixable.
I would have most of that front stuff here if they cant find it down there (not the 2 plastic grills though).
Let me know if I can help out.
Brendan
Lucky Phil will have most of the plastic grilles - maybe even some headlight bits if you cant strighten yours.
Hi guys, thanks for the offer of parts. But is all in the hands of the insurance for now. $7500 repair bill, Reasonably sure there is quite the cut
and shut involved.
The plastic bit I was referring to are things like the demist vents and dash trims and such, as they all blew out of the dash on impact. I imagine
there are a lot of broken clips and such, so nothing will sit right.
Will ring vintage tomorrow and be sure they please, please, please press for a behr radiator.
Would have a lot of the inside dash stuff, and a radiator if needed. Will be finally heading past your place next thursday or Friday, so if you need
any thing let me know.
Good to see that she's being repaired, not written off.
Will get a chance to have a look at it in the daylight for the first time Saturday after next (while everyone else is at valla :-( )
so I won't know till after that, but will definatly yet you know if I get stuck
was thinning of removing my bull bar but now thinking twice, hope all works out! Great bus!
