I know little of them but am seeking advice on replacement shock absorbers for my 1982 Transporter. I want to replace all (they are 25 years old).
One has leaked and they all feel a bit spongy.
I cannot risk the new ones raising the vehicle as it has 10mm to spare gettiung into my garage.
I'd appreciate comments on brands and places to buy. I do not want to spend a fortune.
Any comments on the KYB GR-2s or Gabriel or others?
Thanks volks,
dave
get oil ones, gas *may* lift the car a tiny bit
any new ones will be an improvement of what you have!
standard shocks are avaliable from repco etc, prices arn't too bad. only if you were to "upgrade" would i worry about brand or make, co-fap are good standard shocks.
Thanks Gents, I'll check at Repco

This thread is a bit old - but out of interest,
I had Koni adjustables on my T3's.
The adjustable rebound enabled settings that gave cornering that was flat and no excess body movement on the highway and over speed humps and the
like. Also, after about 250,000 kilometres they are still going strong.
I've fitted Koni's to my 62 Beetle too.
i heard the koni's are also good if you want to lower your T3 a touch
I bought some Boge dampers off ebay.de after I dropped my T3 60mm
no complaints with price or quality.
Get old man emu if off roading and Syncro.
Heavier springs work well too
Get Koni, Bilstein or Boge.
Shocks cannot lift the car.
Do not get Cofap.
