Hey all,
I was just wondering what people's advice / recommendations would be as I want to upgrade from my stock exhaust.
Engine is stock 1600cc pushing a 72' bus. I want to chase a few more horses (know I won't get alot),and also looking for a deeper note, something
that sounds nice.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Cheers

Have just fitted a CSP Python to mine but have not started it yet
Sidewinder sound great and are halve the price as a csp but there are heater box issues and in my opionin are not designed as well
Wow, that looks really smicko. With the sidewinder you can't keep your heater boxes at all?? or it's just a bit of a dogy fit. Cause I don't really
mind getting rid of them haha... chuck some J pipes on or something.
also the python will only fit up to 71', I have a 72 bit upsetting...
haha
Cheers

I got a set of lowmounts that sound the ducks and kept my heaters intact
Oh, Sweet! You've still got the low-mounts Rod.
I sure do miss them.
I do love being able to bolt a stinger on though.
I'm about to install this Bugpack Merged Header, no heat exchangers and gonna be tricky to clear the cross brace.
Ot my old system, Bugpack single quiet pack. No clearance issues, and can run heat exchangers.
Does anyone know much about thunderbird exhaust systems?
Cheers

Classic Vee dub now also have a Sidewinder exhaust that accomodates heater boxes.
I just bought a sidewinder from classic but unfortunately they only come in 1 5/8 inch. Way too big for a 1600 and prob too big for my 1916
O well.
You might be better going for the merged 1 3/8 system from CB performance, but on a stock 1600 might be a waste. I'm running a 1 1/2 non merged empi flanged system in my bus. The mufflers are terrible, but headers seems to have lasted very well, 4 years now. I'm using a bugpack mondo muffler, lose a bit of low end, but not reallly noticeable and gain a bit of mid/top.
