Any comments , advice or help with these two would be great. I think they are 57 & 54 models going by the chassis numbers....
so did you take them home?
3 days of hard slog including the removal of 2 ute & trailer loads of timber from inside both them , they were finally removed.
Have a few more pics of them but are not sure i can add any more to the post.
add more pics for sure!!! Hard slog more than worth it for the find. Did the timber make rust worse or better? Absorb moisture off the shell, or held it and added to rust?
No rust in the brown one, but the blue/green one has a bit in the front of the cabin. Not much considering they have been sitting this way since 1975 or there abouts. Will post more pic's in readers rides .
A few more pic's of the 57 & 54 kombi's found last week in Brisbane.
nice treasure hunting there
A few more....
They look like an awesome find More pics !!!
more shots
Geez they look pretty solid too! They'd have to be the best barn finds I have seen for along time.
Just realised where the rest were. Those engines look quite good. Are you gonna restore them or put a larger donk in? I cant believe how clean they both look for the amount of time they have stood!
Wow!!!
They look fantastic ... what a great place to start from.
How on earth did you find them?
A few more pics.
I have loaded more pic's at a new thread in members rides.
I am still utterly astounded how good a condition these 2 vehicles are in after being used as a timber yard for the best part of 33 years .
nice find
matt
nice find Rhys
Thye will bring 30K no worries
looking at rear tail lights i am thinking more early 60's
what suburb did they come out of. either way great find and should make great resto's
Rhys that green one is a BARNDOOORRRRRR its heaps cool
they look like some i seen on a TV show, uno one of those reno gardening, pet rescue shows , it had old Kombis stuck down the back yard. Not sure if it as their yard or the neighbors who was being filmed.maybe not them at all
don't think its rhys but yeh good find

very very nice. great find.
Ohhhh man......the green eyed monster just reared its ugly head!
Very envious mate, I love them both!
Al
Wow! Congratulations. Mutherload. So what's the story? How did you find these?
Good on you ........ like winning lotto.
These little beauties were found because the house is for sale.
It is very much like a hoarders paradise or a garbage tip, depending on your point of view.
You would knock the house down & start again, factoring in 100k or so to clear up the garbage inside & outside the house.
The only other thing recognisable in the yard among the old washing machines & assorted crap is a early 50's skoda bonnet.
Have tracked the chassis numbers down via samba.com as the plates on the brown one have been removed.
It seems to fall under the december 57 production run but anything is possible !
you lucky lucky lucky lucky bugger!
Better than winning 30k on a scratchy. Cool find
will you restore or just get them on the road? One or both?
A dream half a decade away for me...one day! very nice mate.
Unreal find, love the barny... must be more out there
