Project lowlight - brought it home and started on the rust!

I thought i'd post some pics of my new project, a 70 lowlight panel.

I picked it up last Thursday and with replacement panels in hand, new sheet metal, welder, a well stocked workshop, allot of enthusiasm and 4 days up my sleeve i started cutting the rust out. I found aluminum cans shoved in the vailance holding the bog together!

As you can see, I started with the front vallance and outer steps. The front vallance was worse than i thought but nothing a replacement panel won't fix. The steps were't too bad so i ended up fabricating my own panels. The drivers floor was held together with fibreglass so bought a new floor ready to weld in. Before i bought the car i knew the A pillars were rusty so i found a good second hand pair and i only needed to completely remove and replace the drivers side. The passenger side just needed patching up.

The next stage will be passenger floor, front vallance, lower windscreen and drivers wheel tub where the outer seat runner sits (if anyone has a good upper drivers wheel well please let me know).

Thanks for looking.
