Help with Splity keys
sauron - August 7th, 2011 at 12:52 PM

Hey my name is Michael and usually I am on the drag forum but I need some help with my 62 Kombi. I have broken the the only key I had for it and need some one to cut one for me. I bought some genuine blanks off a guy at Bad Camberg recently and because my original key has the code still on it I was wondering if any body new a lock smith who has access to these old codes. I live in Melbourne but advice from anyone would be great

Hi
I don't know anyone offhand who has the codes except a fellow in the USA...
there may be some older VW shops who still have the codes etc

having blanks cut is another problem...
some old keys are made from VERY hard material which ruins the "normal" key cutters grinding wheel...
so I've been told...
by the local keycutter... lol

check out this website for info... :-

MARK1KEYS.COM

I have been going to get some keys done for a while....
but never got around to it....
You need to really read what Mark wants in relation to the key You need.. as he has VERY strict rules... lol
send Him the wrong info and get a blank key back... lol

cheers

Thanks everyone
have sorted, believe it or not found a locksmith just near my home who pulled one of the locks apart and cut my key to suit. Only charged me $30 to do it
Thanks Michael
