When did OZ built Notches start?

Were they CKD's or were they stamped here?

Were they built on the same line as the bugs?

Were all push button dash 62/63 notches fully imported?

62 is the first year of notches in Oz,.. right?

I think type3s in Australia started like this

3 imported by VWA in August 62 for technical evaluation.

Fully imported cars released to the public 1 feb 63.

So no 62 models. Unless some of these cars where made in Germany before Aug 62?

CKD Aussie built squareback with 30% Aussie manufacture content (some panels) started July 63. I don't know about notchs.


64 till the 69CKD models came out, the bodies were all stamped here I think and had more Aussie content.

Same production line as Type1s

I don't know if all push button notches were imported. Maybe early Aussie built ones were push button?
