Hi all,
I finally managed to purchase a 1970 Type 3 Fastback and now need to do a bit of work on it to get it registered. I'm located in Sydney and have a list of my different questions below:

1. Does anyone know of any good auto electricians in sydney? - I need my indicators and hazard lights fixed as they are not working from what appears to be an issue in the steering wheel column. Also need to install wiring for reverse lights.

2. What's the best way to hold on/glue on a rubber door seal which is hanging loosely on the door? How do you install the rubber seal for the front bonnet?

3. My car is sitting at a little bit of an angle to the ground (leaning to the right). Does anyone know what could be causing this or how I can adjust it? (maybe the suspension just needs adjusting?)

4. Any ideas on a good upholsterer I might use at some point in Sydney? All the seats are original but have a few small tears that need fixing. The seats also sag a bit after sitting on them for a while, so it would be nice to fix this.

I am a complete novice when it comes to fixing up an old vw, so any advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Take your time and do it all yourself.

answers from my perspective:

1. Located in Canberra I have an awesome auto-sparky. However, order yourself new column switches and source the correct electrical diagram from the Samba.
2. I used a Tarzan Grip glue product - did the trick on all my seals
3. just slam it - that will fix your ride height
4. I DIY'd the interior, sourced everything from ISP west. Cost $1500 for the interior instead of >$6000 - your call.
