VW Air Shock Kits for Type 3? Monroe.
DubEnthusiast - May 16th, 2015 at 11:33 AM

Hey all!

Does anyone know where i can source a complete air shock kit from? Need front and rear air shocks for the type 3 and im wanting to go from 0 to 125 at least. There has been rumors that Monroe manufacture air shocks that give a 5" inflation height when fully filled. Any leads? If so thank you so much! Also, im a total rookie on this subject. Are there control kits you can get with a compressor inside the car to inflate on the spot? Just if i wanna drop the car at a car show and raise it when leaving or travelling.

Thanks yall!
Nick

Hey mate, you can do the rear but i wouldnt bother. mine has monroe shocks all round. not really an off the shelf thing, lots of modifying. As for air management the sky is the limit, you can used a bike pump, or have a gauge and paddle switch in the cabin with a compressor and tank to adjust while driving. Im running a VIAIR 480 compressor with electro-pneumatic paddle switches in a tankless setup. i run upto 150psi and the front gets about 75mm travel. rides best about 90-110

as for engineering you arent really changing anything its purely a load assist style setup as long as you maintain legal ride height and bumpstops etc (mine is slammed and hasnt had any bump stops for years)
