Historic details of Gerty
Drewtay13 - June 3rd, 2015 at 03:34 PM

Hi guys,

Am looking to find out details on my daily Gertrude. I have done the rego department, and calling VW Australia, but they are of no help. I really want to confirm that the motor is the original and based on the numbers it is from the correct era however I really want to confirm it is the original as well as find out more information, such as first owner, where it was sold etc. I am assuming that someone on here has gone through this process before, so any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

What is your vehicle?

I'm under the impression that if it was an Australian produced model (and that includes CKD's) that no info is available as the records were destroyed when the plant closed.:sniffle:
So you'd be wasting your money.

If it's an import from Germany it should be ok.

I'm sure someone who knowsfor sure will chime in here.

Good luck in your search.

Thanks for that. It was a CKD delivered in Australia. I am surprised that all records were lost, and would hope that the Germans would have maintained them...??? We shall see in 8 or 9 months I guess...
