Needing more info on paint type and brand than I can seem to find. I assume it might be normally on the paint sticker of which I do not have.
I have a '66 Australian built fastback in Bahama blue.
The paint brochure for that year refers to a four stage baked enamel paint process including phosphate dipping.
Some later models have a sticker that reads "re-finish with Dulon Type E lacquer". From speaking to an older gent with a keen history in VW's he
mentioned that the label was not the exact paint they used but a recommendation on what to use to blend minor repairs with.
I'm getting confused now. It appears my car has a finish that had no orange peel and looked very flat like an Acrylic lacquer that was wet sanded
smooth.
Any more detailed info would be appreciated.
