Recently put my freshened engine that came out of my Square that was killed a couple of years ago into my Notch . Anyway, I got to pull the cooling tin off the original engine last weekend, believe it or not, but this engine was still running fine, a bit fummie and leaking badly from the pushrod tubes, but still cruised fine at highway speeds. The resiliency of air cooled VW engines never ceases to amaze me!

Yeah I know it is Peter, haven't investigated any further, it's slotted for a rebuild in the future anyway, I was just getting it down to the long block for easier storage, at least it won't corrode / rust!
