I know fk all about Type 3s, but figured it was cheap enough ... thanks to David aka LoBus for his assistance (I've aint seen it) on this one. It's a 72 ... not sure I know anything else, but Dave said the radiator was mint.

See there are plenty of nice folk out there who will lend a hand and not just because theres a wallet in it.

Look forward to sitting in my first Type 3. Gonna be my daily driver to work.

Very nice, looks very straight and paint looks good, Antarctic White I think. And dont worry all the radiators in Type 3's are mint condition, thats German technology for you.

See, have a look and see how good mine is!

nice fasty dean, interior shots?

crewcabconnection - November 10th, 2007 at 12:20 PM

Hope I didn't do the wrong thing ... the Chief wasn't over enthusiastic today ... they are 'expensive' to fix. Like anything else is cheap!

I just want a comfortable daily driver, not really sure what Fastbacks are worth, so kinda took a punt here. Ya reckon it was worth 5k?

Maybe I should have bought a Hyundai.

jo_tas - November 11th, 2007 at 09:46 AM

Definately worth 5k! That thing is mint!

butidontunderstand - November 11th, 2007 at 04:05 PM

yeh im with josie, that one is definately worth 5grand its perfect

crewcabconnection - November 11th, 2007 at 04:25 PM

makes me feel better - hard to price these things, I was working on the basis that rust and body would soon eat 5k, so can't be too bad. Not too many for sale to judge ... saw Mullers purple notch at the Shootout ... then thought ... mmm, that would solve a my daily driver problem and I was sulking as I couldnt quite afford Tonys Splitter...got close but no prize ... ah well plan B.

Klaus - November 11th, 2007 at 07:22 PM

hard to fine clean late model type 3's without rust ,so good buy .could have sold you a crusty lookin 73 wagon for half that lichen n all and bugger all rust.

You'll love that Dean. Nice example by the looks too. They drive just like a real car.
$5k? How could you possibly go wrong? Needs a bit of a dumpage perhaps.

GTMac - November 12th, 2007 at 03:24 PM

Hey Dean, this is still on Ebay with make an offer on it as of last night. Does that mean I can offer him $5001 and hell take it? Better let him know its still there if not already removed.

LukeV85 - November 13th, 2007 at 10:23 AM

very nice car mate,

its pretty rare to find a type 3 in immac condition. Good spotting

crewcabconnection - November 17th, 2007 at 03:26 PM

not immaculate ... but pretty happy with it when I picked it up today. Overnight Melb to Sydney for $385.00 inc GST - didn't think that was too bad. No doubt there will be something that needs fixing, but seemed to go okay and really was a surprise, drove way better than I thought it would. Sure that it will need a few more $$$ spending, but generally its got all the original books, bill of sale and service history stamps. As I've never had one or even been in one - I've got no idea if its as it should be ... guess I'll find out. Hey Brad, now I can use the bottle of seat and whitewall moonshine you sent me finally.

I know its not a split, but make you think, type 3s give you a lot of fun for reasonable money ... not sure I could get into a split project snot box for this money ... but thats for another day.

Thanks again to David Lobus for his endless help in getting this up to Sydney.

Here we go ... just gotta loose all those damn Melbourne badges.
