Hi all. Trying to help mate with the purchase of this catch to suit a 1959 Karmann. Located in the Liverpool area of Sydney. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.
give Mike a call at Vintage 9789-1777 he may have one there
Thanks vw54. Have passed on the info. Gotta say mate and i spent at least 3 hours stuffing about with the old latch to no avail. Shame really as this Ghia is a very well known award winning car and nothing worse to see her poke out her tongue every time the bonnet pops up unexpectedly.Actually it took out Best European a couple or so weeks back.Cheers
Hey Thugbug, any pictures or more details on the Ghia? 1959? Lowlight? LHD? Original or mods?
I'd like to know if I recognise it.
I'm close to finishing a 59 and a half Ghia- Not a lowlight, and first of the right hookers. These cars are getting very hard to find parts for,
especially in Australia. I've been having to look to The States for some of my replacement parts. Good luck with the latch.
Hi Axlepressbutton. The best way to find info of this car is contact 'badkarmann' on this site. What i can tell you is that it`s one sweet ride. And quite stunning to look at. cheers
hi thugbug how you going with getting one any luck as yet
Done deal. Badkarmanns got his bonnet catch. Waiting on pic from guy that sold him catch. I think pic was taken in early 90`s before mods were done. Car will be at the VW Show Sydney in May though. cheers
BTW axlepressbutton - really sweet looking KG of yours. Big difference from the original pic eh. cheers
Cool, cool!
I've been making more progress lately, but another spell abroad is going to put it on hold again until later in the year. ARGGHH!- SO CLOSE!!
heres some pic's of mine
