I think it might be.

Nice Ghia,

Just some advice for your future info, you may want to check your chassis number for the year model as 1964 models had a finger pull to open the door from the inside and your picks show the earlier style crank type door release.

The 64 model had different outside door handles, striker plate, door lock mechanisms as well.

May help in the future to make sure you don't get the wrong parts for your model Ghia.

I had a 64 and got cought out before I found out.

Cheers,

David

Thanks David.

I looked at my chassis number via thesamba it was built in 1963 for 1964MY.

Don't know if it makes a difference ??

Prior to my family owning it (1995), it was repaired(restored) very badly; not many original parts in it anymore :(

phaeton - July 11th, 2009 at 07:12 PM

I was trawling through thesamba again tonight and just rechecked my VIN again and realised I misread what year mine was made
Its a 62 built 63MY KG.

There is already rubbing at the current height  imagine it lowered

Post some pics of the Square :dork:

Wannavee - July 24th, 2009 at 11:54 PM

Have tried to post pics, always comes up 'File too large' so i gave up after 903 attempts!
And try some skinnier tyres, like 135's,thatll stop the rubbing.I'm after some for the front of mine after getting it lowered.165's are getting eaten away if i even think of turning it.
Will hafta drop in n say gday when i get some time during the week

Wannavee i use these guys to host my pics...They upload and resize them automatically. Just make sure you choose message board or forum size (640 x 480)

and remember to copy the [img] [/img] tagged links and paste them into your post.

Cheers

ps. if your tyres rub just do what the previous owners of my car did and cut the hell out of your arches ;)

grumble - July 25th, 2009 at 08:42 PM

Is it the front tyres that are rubbing or the rears. A lot of years ago my fronts picked the edge of the guards when turning hard and going through a dip,I had the guard edges flared. I am now running 195/65x15's all round with no trouble even with a suspension that has settled over the past 40 years.

Wannavee - July 26th, 2009 at 02:16 PM

Cheers guys, ill look into the guard flaring i rekn.Pretty sure Debiasi boys do it.
Ive just got no time to drive it down there. Will sort something
