Type 3 newbie !!
MrPHD - July 16th, 2008 at 11:10 AM

Hi all :)

Having previously owned a myriad of other dubs and after a few years in the non-dub wilderness it is time to wet my feet again ... and then dry them again in air-cooled wonderness :)

I'd love an early notch as a daily driver ... but am partial to all things type 3 :)

Aaron.

Welcome aboard.
Which part of the country do you hail from?

MrPHD - July 16th, 2008 at 07:21 PM

Cheers lads :) appreciate it.

Thanks for the heads up T3k ... i'll be keeping my eyes and ears out in the hope of landing myself one.

I'm up on the Far North Coast of NSW ... near Lismore ... but am happy to travel in my search.

Type3Sicko - July 18th, 2008 at 07:06 AM

G'day and welcome to the fold...again, there may be a relatively cheap re-entry into type 3's for you in brisbane for $1500 ono, (page 3 of cars for sale on this site) i don't know this car or the person selling it but it looks straight nonetheless. good luck

MrPHD - July 18th, 2008 at 09:07 AM

Thanks 'knd' :) notice that you are on the Gold Coast ... do you know of any VW Clubs 'round my way at all ??

Gmt3 - July 30th, 2008 at 07:48 PM

i have a square back for sale check out the forum ;)

MrPHD - August 4th, 2008 at 02:55 PM

The search is over ... well I guess the search will always be on but for the time be it is halted :)

I have purchased a '71 Squareback :) it is located in Orange NSW and that is where it will remain untill it gets a Blue Slip and some rego prior to going to collect it and the roadtrip up to the North Coast.

MrPHD - September 8th, 2008 at 06:07 PM

Well she is home :) all blue slipped and rego'd up ... and loving the start of her new life on the Far North Coast of NSW. A lil bit of elbow grease with polishing rag in hand and she is looking a treat parading down the street. I'll post some pics of her soon. She is desperate need of a rim transplant however ... she is currently wearing 14" rims and 75 profile rubber :( ... back to standard rims and rubber we think ... so if anyone can help out i'd love to hear from them.

Welcome aboard and congratulations on the squareback I hope you get lots of enjoyment from it. Over the last 40 years I have found the vw clan very enjoyable and I hope you get the same results Regards Les

T3's rock. I have a T3 kombi (82 aircooled) and it still goes great :)

slippy - November 5th, 2008 at 12:28 PM

The old T3 / type 3 confusion strikes again?

satori - November 11th, 2008 at 07:27 PM
