boxhead - December 19th, 2008 at 02:44 PM

I have a type 3 listed for sale on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130275743976&ss...
I have been asked what size th eengine is, I have no idea and I dont know what to look for to answer his question.
Can anyone advise how I tell th eengine size, it has 2 carbies if that makes a difference?

That appears to be the poverty pack General Lee VW with the 1600cc engine.:tu:

The high performance model came out with a 427 cui hemi.:smirk:

Stick a subaru motor in it and no one will know the difference!!:starhit:

Don't tell anyone it's rare cos someone will sell 6 the same as yours and flood the market.
Good luck with the sale and welcome aboard.

Thanks Adam, it is pretty good rust wise, the engine runs well, no abnormal noises and does not leave oil on the ground.
It has a little bit of rust, but all looks like easy repairs, a little around the bottom of rear screen, there is some in the plenum chamber you can see when you open the bonnet.
And replace the boot lid, all rust si gone then, as for dents, there is only the one on the nose you can see in the pic, there might be a small kink in passengers door too, (cant remember) and the bonus is it has a tow bar :)
With such a huge amount of power, I can imagine it towing a 20 foot van no worries
