chrome bits in window rubbers
Petey - December 29th, 2008 at 05:14 PM

Hi there,
I just fixed up the rear window of my squareback and put a new window rubber in which went ok after a bit of pain! But there's one thing I haven't been able to figure out and that's how to get the thin chrome strip in there. Has anyone here done this before? Are there any cool techniques for this ?
Thanks
Pete

Pete, i hate to tell you but you gotta put the chrome strip in first then install the window to the car, thats the way i did it and a part of the strip in the corner still popped out.

step 1 clean the glass

step 2 fit rubber to glass make the join in the center of glass ( so it dont look UGLY )

Step 2a fit the join in rubber where the chrome trim joiner will be ( so it dont look UGLY )

step 3 fit chrome trim to rubber on glass

step 4 fit window assy to the car

this is the only way it can be done
