My '60 KG (bog std 1600TP apart from a 30PICT) goes Geelong to Port Campbell & back weekly.

320km on 25 litres of Shell premium @ 60mph indicated.

Over 12km/litre

Ya gotta love a low coefficient of drag!

Geez, my R100RS doesn't get much over 15! It's a lot quicker tho.

Hi

That's pretty good, that = 7.8 Litre/100ks or 36.17 mpg.

When we drove to Warwick in my daily 1303, lowered, 17 inch wheels, headers, 009 and stock unknown mileage 1600 twin port we got 7.2 litre/100ks, but my son was learning to drive so most of the time we were doing 80kph.

I was getting 7.5l/100km on way back from Valla, I may be cheating with the engine though  but not bad for its HP output.

Good to see that there are still a few fairly stock Karmanns out there being used as they were meant to be.unfortunately it became impractical to use mine as frequently as i would like. But it did travel Taree to Forster daily for over 10 years at a fair rate of knots. (no speed limits then just open road)
