Another real 1500S surfaces in Melbourne. Not many here in OZ. Might be worth a look if anyone has plenty of spare loot.

Hi Dave. This is the fully imported 1500S hence the reason I quoted "real" 1500S. The seller quotes that the car has various options of trim so no doubt he knows little about the Type 3 range and history. Even though this model is still rather common in the UK and US, there are very few examples left here in OZ. Standard trim included the rear seat centre fold down armrest along with popouts, z armrests in front and overriders, bonnet trim and wraparound indicators. Also retained the locking steering column. Quite a bit of difference to the rather bland OZ produced S of 1965!

By the way, that's $7 k US he wants which puts it at around $10 k OZ!

7k US, realy gets me when Ausies advertise in US dollars, whats wrong with good old Ausie dollars, I have seen this so many times for all different things that I'm starting to wonder if we have lost the southern cross from our flag and replaced it with 52 (or whatever number) of stars, maybe we are going to be the 53rd.

When trying to sell to a US buyer, its prolly best to have it in the currency they will pay in....Its not as if your buying things at the supermarket in US dollars.....So much angst over nothing.....

Nah, when a university student comes up with "heaps good" bangs it on a T-shirt and then says he is proud to be a south australian, Thats when I feel like moving more than ever out of this sub desert dust bowl of a crap hole state. He's just a proud bogan and advertised the fact!! As for the bloke advertising in uncle sam currency, there is not much to worry about in terms of his highly non original car going out of the country as there are cleaner real S's over there and they also have the variant S too.
