notch-72 - April 11th, 2009 at 06:50 PM

I own a late Type 3 (4 stud), And I cant find any wheels I like but plenty in 5 stud. what's involved in changing them To 5 stud ? Is it easy or just stick with the originals.

Hey mate, im in the same vote. If wanting to go to 5 stud you have to buy new front rotors and back hubs with that pattern. Volks conversions sell them, cost around $600. But if you stay with 4 stud and change to 4 x 100 pattern you can just get your disks and back hubs redrilled and will cost around $150-$200.

are you talking about 5 x 205 (wide 5)? assuming you are, you would probably have to switch to type 3 drums as you will find that Volks conversions dont make a wide 5 disc kit for type 3's... I thisnk Satori may be talking about the Porsche 5 stud pattern 5x 130.

Places like Cip1 and so on in the states sell wide 5 kits for about US$2500... if your interested

But i would probably just stick with your four stud pattern a lot simpler IMHO.

yeah I was presuming you were talking about going to any other 5 stud pattern like suby, ford or holden......
