1970 wagon
OLLY - May 30th, 2009 at 07:31 PM

I am new to Aussieveedubbers and would like to add a bit to this site .I am currently restoring a member of the family. I have a few photos and not sure what to add. I have looked through this site and there are some very cool pics and info.
For some reason I have done a few v.w. up over the the time. I have sold most, but kept my wife's (not that she'd part with it anyway after fifteen years). I thought for the v.w.'s 40th birthday I would restore it.I am doing all panel and paint work by myself which I started july 08.On my last panel..........long way to go yet.

Look forward to seeing this finished.
What are the plans, lowered? Wheel combo or a resto? Nice colour too

V-Dubber while I was sand blasting around the brake reservoir there was a old repair i assumed it was a rust repair in the top corner of the petrol bay,I didn't find any evidence of there ever being one on the firewall,
but the previous owner may have moved it.I'll have to take note next time I checking out another 1970 model.I think the 72/73 are on the same side as shown here.
tar for that.

Wannavee. The front beam has been taken out and all replaced with new standard components-on my wife's request(damn!)
The original colour is signal orange but we chose this colour as we wanted it to blend in with the crowd.

so great to know your there. As for the volks I'am in no rush as it"s year built was 11month 1970.but it actually hit the road on the 28.1.71 so hopefully by this date but before would be good.just bought a 1965 beetle so next one is lining up.
