Hi guys and guyettes!
I've got to get some bits and bobs for my Square project.
So far, George at Classic is the frontrunner on availability (according to some other people's opinions). Apparently though the poor guy is under the
pressure of so many phone calls that it's difficult to contact him and to get your parts in a reasonable timeframe.
What is your experience on Type 3 part suppliers (please be honest but civil) and who would you recommend?
Muchos Gracias - the high-altituude fruitloop.
I actually saw this as a chance to give kudos to good suppliers rather than a bitch session. Anyone wet themselves for joy with someone and their gear
here in Aus?
Ive bought limited stuff from OZ suppliers as generally their type 3 range is pretty limited.
ISP West are hard to go parst in the US in terms of range - they have pretty much everything. Just gotta get lucky with the dollar i guess....
yeah i agree with Pete. Ive found it is pretty limited with type 3 stuff in Oz but have found VWpaarts.net good to deal with and a huge range.
flat-4, Japanese site hard to navigate but worth the hassle.
Classic VW have the stuff but their service is not very timely, Mick motors in Qld are good with parts but neither are necessarily type 3
specialists.
Imorts are good from ISP west and airhead parts in USA among others too. Get the airhead catalogue.
I'm a bit the same, have bought more from the US than locally. Only local stuff I have really bought is tune up parts, carb springs etc.
I've got some bits from CIP-1 and my TMI interior came from evwparts, both were easy to deal with and gear rocked up timely & as promised. ISP
will be my choice when time comes for seals etc as they have the best range I've seen.
