My new '69 Type 34 1600L
RZEDGE - May 11th, 2010 at 08:02 AM

About 10 years ago I used to own a 57 Bug, which I loved... nothing compared to the love I feel for this thing though!

Got a long road ahead in terms of restoration but I know it'll be worth it!

RZEDGE - May 11th, 2010 at 08:20 AM

mostly body work, there's no major rust, some cosmetic, engine and mechanics complete although it hasn't been driven for 2 years.

bajachris88 - May 11th, 2010 at 08:48 AM

she's gorgeous dude. :tu: very straight too. would hate to think what u paid for it. but looks to be a good project.

Just off to Wolfgang now for mechanical work and for trimming...

ColonyVW - April 15th, 2012 at 08:40 AM

Awesome, well done.

type3disease - April 15th, 2012 at 08:49 AM

WOW... want want want very cool

RZEDGE - April 16th, 2012 at 11:39 PM

Currently it's with Wolfgang at Volkscourt where it's having the motor and other mechanics brought up to spec - it's also getting full leather trim by Spence (recommended by Wolfgang). I'm feeling really confident leaving it in the hands of those guys... unlike the bodywork guy who I needed to coach every step of the way!

Empi 914 wheels will be added... probably later as I'm becoming a fan of the mini-lites. (somebody convince me I'm wrong keeping them!)

Fastie - April 17th, 2012 at 11:34 AM

Get rid of them. Is that enough?

Agreed. Too nice a car to have the thread hijacked.

Vote 1 for changing the wheels though. Radar would be my preference, but 914 is better than minilite
