Ok, I want to start my enigne for the first time. body has been removed so there is no "key and ignition barrel" wired up.

My question is, What are the steps that needs to be taken to start the engine? eg. get a jerry can of fuel and run a fuel line to...? Engine has twin solex carbs..

Your help is greatly appreciated.

assuming that the engine is still connected to the transmission, connect the battery positive to the starter cable and another lead from the battery to the earth,a wire from the main starter starter lead to the coil positive and the auto chokes & idle cut off solenoids if fitted, connect the starter positive wire to the solenoid terminal via a momentary switch,if the engine has fuel when it is cranked it should fire and run. This is assuming all care has been taken, there are no fuel leaks, short circuits and all due care.
