Errrr, yeah the doors are kind of shut there. I'll keep an eye out for you and pass any details on if interested.

Major - September 23rd, 2010 at 10:56 AM

Chris, I have the same problem with melburg. I was registered on there a while ago but was de-registered for some reason.

It is a pretty good forum so would be keen to get back on.

Fastie - September 23rd, 2010 at 12:19 PM

They are planning to open it up again at some stage. Members with 0 or close to 0 activity were culled.

Major - September 23rd, 2010 at 04:28 PM

That would explain it. I used it to gather research and look for fasties for sale.

05bjp90 - September 23rd, 2010 at 07:20 PM

Just to let everyone know, that red one never had an engine fire.
Bit of hassle, Staf, ill fill ya in when i get my seat haha.

But Chris7 that red one is quite a nice car. Very, very cool looking.
Will need a bit of work to geta rwc here in Vic but shouldnt be too bad.

The guy who owns it has done a good job. Recently had a bit of work done too.

Did you give him a call?

Fastie - September 23rd, 2010 at 08:11 PM

Ben, I am intrigued...
Chris, I've bought a fastback from the guy who owned this fastie before. To be honest try and buy one locally. SA doesn't need RWC and when you bring it here the inspection goes as far as replacing worn door seals.. So use your imagination on what kind of $$$ you will spend to get it on the road here. Not being negative in any way .. But have been down this road before

05bjp90 - September 23rd, 2010 at 08:45 PM

I was too, all good though.

Chris, any car you buy without a rwc is sure to have a suprise or two. But if you talk to the owner first, ask a lot of questions you should be able to get a pretty good idea of what the car is going to need. Make sure to request a lot of photos too.

I know the red one has some rust in the parcel shelf and a few other areas. Will need a new drivers seat too. As for what else, not so much based on the car but more where you take it for a rwc.

Good luck, i hope you get your hands on one soon!

chris7 - September 23rd, 2010 at 08:59 PM

thanks guys for some sound advice...i think thats the main thing cars of this age are always going to need something right..it would nice just to meet a seller who is honest with what they know is required. instead trying to cover things that need fixing.if you have a genuine passion for these cars anything can be fixed or restored is just matter of time and dollars..and a serious buyer wont be put off..its just sucks when you travel along way to see a car thats in a worse state than advertised..something that is too far out my budget to fix just waste my time and there time!!

Major - September 24th, 2010 at 09:17 AM

Chris, sure you don't want to buy my VT SS, supercharged V6? It has a rwc!

He, he.........

Man, when will someone buy this car? I want a fastback!
