YES YES YES!!!!

I can't understand it when people are trying to sell a car and put up crappy photos like this.

You don't see many sunroof Type34s for sale. From the badge on the back I'd say it a 67. 66s had VW1600 and 67s had VW1600L. Also I think 67 was the first year for the woodgrain dash? which wld be why this one is black now( or 67s where black and 68s woodgrain?). It looks to have after market front and rear windscreen rubbers without the chrome trim, non original side mirror and retrimed front seats, other than that it looks to be mostly all there. Like the ad says it will have rust. If it is a 67 it's the first year of 12v and duel circuit brakes which are good things to have. Its hard to see much with those photos.

Guys, I don't know to much about these. It looks like it might need a fare bit of work. How much do these things usually go for?

Wannavee - September 27th, 2010 at 03:46 PM

A good one I nearly bought 6 months ago was $13k.Have seen them go for upwards of $17k.
The one above needed a door replacing and a small amount of rust in the sills.Door was an extra $400.The rest of the body was excellent and good paint.
It was like driving a new car too, very smooth. Apart from the door, the overall was very good condition.
I'm told theyre hard to get bits for and pricey, thats why I bought a Type 14.And it was a lot cheaper.
34's are only going to go up in price I'd say

Someone needs to show the seller how to take good photos that mean something...
no pics of engine....
no pics of rusted floor etc...

is very cheap...

but these can cost a packet to fix...
if you can find the parts...

As much as it pains me to say it, the Americans are good with online selling of cars. Look at any of their add's on Ebay and the like, and there are HEAPS of photos, ive never understood why Australians struggle with this...

Ugly is as ugly does Doc.Thats why you like them ya noob

I might buy it just to piss you off

newghia - September 28th, 2010 at 06:43 AM

A Very Good base start,
with most of it there you wouldn't need to chase many parts & the body work could be fixed.
The pan will swap from another type 3 if its that bad
will still cost a fair amount to bring up to a usable condition if you dont have the skills yourself,
Nath
