After years of hibernation doing the family thing and pending house build, I thought I'd start doing little things with the ghia again. This is the
earliest Ghia in Australia, delivered new in koln germany and subsequently shipped to the US in the late 50's and ending up here in 2007/8. It comes
with the correct matching numbered pan and body tags and certificate from Wolfsburg. It's all complete now(been collecting a lot of NOS stuff through
the years). I'll keep adding photos as I go along. It has been incorrectly converted to right hand drive because I can and its mine!

haven't decided whether to run a Judson or a Swiss made Mag Supercharger.

I love these little cars they were way before their time.Is that a Rometesch steering wheel or one that came originally?A spot of welding here and a great deal of time but at the end you will have a beautiful litle car.Cheers Les
I've never actually seen it in a Rometsch;only on early VDubs and Porsche 356's. The second horn ring is for the indicators and high beam.
Love the look of the Judson scoop on the back !!!
shouldnt have a JUDSON scoop if it runing a MAG blower ?????
very nicccceee
Run the Mag Charger Aldo.
Geez get someone to lower it!!!

I know Dave, scoop is wrong if I run the Mag, love the look of the scoop though. I'm leaving it right hand drive Lindsay, giving it to my son eventually..Re:Lowering...Empi/Adam I guess I require your services. As for the Mag Dean, seems a little to rare/unreliable to run on a daily driver..Cheers all!

those are the most beeeautiful alloys i have ever seen! might sound stupid, but what are they? "sprintstars"? and where can i get em?
Thanks mate, the wheels are called Der Steiner Rad, it's the only set in Oz. You can buy it from the site listed below in Germany. Let me know if I
could help in any way, I can send you Boris Schmidt, the DSR maker's direct number in Germany.

I do want a set of those wheels... BAD...

wow this project car is gonna be awesome...any update?
luv it! the MAG is the go as it is heaps rarer in Oz than the Judson and goes with the 50's KG and the accessory steering wheel. Also if it's a daily driver what engine are you going to run? anyhting over 1500 will be a problem with the Mg or Judson.....
Inspiration..got the narrowed beam arriving from the US soon. Der Steiner Rad is a good change from the standard issue Fuchs,I do like Fuchs as well
but they are just so damn common!
Mag or Sprint?
Aldo, you did a great job of retaining the patina on those panels! Looks great, that stance has attitude indeed!
Cheers
Steve

Thanks for clarifying that for Steve mate. No update unfortunately..lack of time and passion..think I'm getting tired of the whole VDub scene, I've been drooling more towards early Citroen's lately LOL! Getting old I guess.
Here's a bit of inspiration for you Aldo:-
1966 DS with an LS1 engine! At least you can slam it at the touch of a button, and its all factory

I know mate, I have always loved this car!
do it Aldo
Love the really early DS's. swivelly front lights and fibreglass roof panels. Buttons on the floor instead of pedals. Very kool
Early DS' are stunning!
A DS with an LS1... wooo!
The oldest KG in Australian, and supercharged or a DS... tough choice, but a cool choice to have to have!
Love, the steering wheel you have on your car!
The perfect example of form & function.
And, who wants to drive a LHD car in the left lane?!
Pfff, no thank you.
Sprintstar, have fun making your choice.
