ISP west in the states have them, it's the only place I know that sells grooved seals.

50 bucks each for front and rear, 25 for any of the side seals.

I got a set from ISP WEST. They are good. And about 200$ cheeper than here. Let me know if you need the chrome Mylar that can replace the original stuff. I stuffed my order and got double what I needed.

hey Zocstar,

whats the go with the Mylar you are talking about??

is there something that can be used instead of the old easily bent trim?

cheers mate!

yes mylar is a multi layered chromed plastic.

Donovan

Most of the grooved seals are avaialble from VVDS in Sydney 02-9789-1777

Keep the old trim if you still have them as there hard to find

Yer it replaces the original.
I bought it for less than half vintage quoted.
It looks good. I'll post pix on Monday. But just look at a pic of my car, I only have it around the front screen ATM.

checked out ispwest. $170.00 for a full set. sounds good!!
shipping is about $90 according to their site. gets cheaper the more you buy so might have to max out the credit card
thanks zocstar. might have to give you a call if we screw up the old chrome

Wcm are selling door kits for $635.80??

https://shop.westcoastmetric.com/viewProduct.php?productID=311-061

Yet their window rubbers are quite cheap?

Where do most people get their type 3 stuff from? I need a full kit, every rubber for a car.

Thanks

Kuchster - April 5th, 2011 at 10:06 PM

Is ispwest the place to go for type 3 stuff?

Scratch - April 18th, 2011 at 12:35 AM

I just ordered a whole set of rubbers. I forgot the one that goes in between the tail light holder and the gate. Dang. I'll let you know how it goes.

Ps, where can i get the mylar trim from? mine is a bit bent and i'm worried it'll break...

So is ISP West still the place to go for seals?
All this rain we've been having lately has shown me how poor my windscreen seals are.
Thinking of making an order. Postage costs seem huge though.

robb - April 23rd, 2011 at 09:07 PM

tell me about it i wanted the cargo rubber mat for my square 50 bucks to buy 422bucks to send sent them an email to c if that was right sure is brother had to let that one slide

azzatron - April 23rd, 2011 at 09:26 PM

It's weird. I've bought bigger and heavier stuff fom the U.S and it was cheaper to ship than some of the quotes I've got from ISP. Oh well. Might have to make a big order and see if he'll combine postage. I tried this once in the past but got a reply saying that postage would be too expensive to be economical.

oztype3 - May 10th, 2011 at 09:27 PM

I was quoted $700 Inc postage for a full kit from ISP

vlad01 - May 11th, 2011 at 01:32 AM

read this thread before buying anything. I was well informed after reading it and it changed my decision.

Just ordered hood seal, door seals, rear hatch seal and engine compartment seal for my square from ISP - combined postage $48 - seems pretty reasonable to me.
Hopefully they all fit!! Heard door seals are okay.

Yeah I got some door seals today from ISP. They look pretty nice. Only heard good things about them also.

vlad01 - May 16th, 2011 at 12:57 PM

yes the door, hood and boot seals are superior to all others. They are developed and made by ISP just like their pop out window seals which is also 150% tops.

but unfortunately the window seals are still only resized type 1 cheap repro not supplied from ISP.

Don't worry ISP are working on their own seals with type 3 factory specs. They have real proto type seal being tested over the last 2 years with good results.

Only a mater of time before the start producing them. :tu:
Thats why I decided not to buy window seals yet ;)

vlad01 - May 16th, 2011 at 12:59 PM

MUST HAVE EXPENSIVE QUALITY!!!!! :grind:

arrHAHAHA!!!!

donovan - May 16th, 2011 at 02:44 PM

ended up reusing my 39 year old window seals. no dramas!!!!!

I read about that on the Samba also. He said it'll take a couple years apparently. Don't think I can let me windscreen leak that long =/
