69 Fastback Info
SA Fastback - April 25th, 2011 at 10:40 PM

Does anyone know what year the fastback changed shape.

I have been told that my fastback is a 70 not 69, although the rego papers say it's a a 69.

It looks like the one in the pic.

I'd say 70, rear lights, bumpers, front indicators are all 70's onwards. Any pix of the inside?

Don't have any of the inside. It has the low back seats, speedo clock and petrol gauge. The car is surrounded by stuff so I can't get into it to look at any numbers..

It's a 1970 model, which started production from 1st August, 1969. And it's a 1970 even if built in 1969 ;)
The 1970 is the first year of the late style body, and doesn't have the rear C pillar air vents.

Its what ever the chassis no describes it as if third digit is a 9 then its a 69,if its 0 then its a 70.
chassis no will tell under the back seat and next to the spare wheel for confirmation

It doesn't matter what number is under the rear seat now. The body style is the 1970 on and as a previous poster said, August 1969 release date but 1970 model. 1969 was still the short nose body.
