I just bought a 1970 Type 3 manual and would really appreciate some help to find the best places to get spare parts and so on.
Also any help with registering the car as a historical car would be great!!! I love the look of the car and it has very little rust so I am looking
forward to spend my free time restoring the beauty!

I've had my fastback for a few months now and one thing I have learned is that EMPI parts are cheap........ and rubbish.
Find a genuine air cooled specialist and get the parts from them.

for club rego u need to check the club list and then get specila interest plates at Motor Transport
and rwc of course

if the brake lights arent working i'd suggest it will be the switch. That is an easy test

Would need all the terminals from under the dash left on and just cut it off as far into the bonnet as ya can.

get yourself a subscription to VWMA. I imagine that most repair shops that are advertising in there are the real deal if they are still in business.
They also often have tech articles that would be of help.

Hi mate i live in surfers. if your after bits give Gold Coast Vee dub a call in Labrador a call his no is in the yellow pages real friendly blokes with years of experience. My brakes have started to do the same thing did you do anything to solve it like bleed the brakes?
Went to GC Vee dub on Friday and picked up a flex heat resistant pipe, quite friendly and helpful!
