fitting pop out seals (inner)
satori - February 5th, 2012 at 11:44 AM

Hey all. I just got my new window seals. Im having trouble getting the chrome surrounds back together after installing the inner seal. They just wont push together far enough to get the screws back in. Anyone have any experience with this?

not sure on what they look like...

but usually if things won't bolt together You use longer screws
to clamp them together... say 3 long screws one short one
then another short one etc...

as I don't really know how yours go together only guessing

cheers

Wish I had the answers. I can't even get my frames apart. The screws seem to be stuck...

would a couple of F clamps (the adjustable ones the builders use) and a couple of strips of wood on the outer frame serve as a clamping device??
cheers John F.

Tried some ratchet straps to pull them togter but still didnt come together. Will probably get them done professionally when I get the rest of the window seals put in.
Yeah I had to drill out a couple of the screws as they were rusted in, but didnt damage the thread on the frame which I was happy about. Now just have to get a couple new screws that will fit.

I remember when I did mine it was difficult but possible.
When fitting any of your rubber, always use plenty of soapy water! Wait till you try to fit your windscreen!
