Anyone know if it's a good idea, or is there anyone in Brisbane that can do it??

Beetle or Type 3 ???

type3disease - June 16th, 2012 at 08:38 AM

given its in the type3 thread (and that beetles only came out in a semi) I'm gonna take a wild guess....!?!

Its a good idea if that's what you want to do, best to have a donor with all the bits to make sure you have everything you need (or a pan swap is even easier)
the extent of the auto includes a different linkage on your carbs through to the gearbox and torque converter, cabelling through the tunnel, the stick shift etc etc, so well worth making sure you have all the right bits...

sorry not from qld so not sure who to recommend, but surely any vw mechanic will be able to.

look forward to seeing a build thread

Is the car swingaxle or IRS, an IRS car will be an easier conversion.

We pan swapped on my Razor.....auto is soooooo cruisey to drive,
i love it & my car has seen quite a few Klms in the last year or so,
