Hi fellow Vdubbers,

I have just bought a type 1 1959 (Alabaster) and wondering about agreed value insurance.

Does anyone have a recommendation of who to use and how the agreed value was 'agreed' on? Will not be traveling many K's a year, will be used a weekend beach car in the Summer and something to tinker with in the winter.

I have been with Shannons for a long time and they have different levels of cover depending on how much you drive.

Their rates are good and you get to keep the car if it is written off. They asked me what I thought the car was worth and it was insured for that amount although that was a long time ago now.

Give them a call and see if this is still the case.
