Have you seen this?

type3kid - April 14th, 2009 at 02:59 PM

no, but looks cool

squizy - April 14th, 2009 at 03:29 PM

Going back 20 years here, but Greg Curtis at the old Bug Factory on the Central Coast used to have something very similar. Including 2.2 ltrs of pancake terror at the back, giving a flat load area. I think he used to run a Baja front too.

RED62E - April 15th, 2009 at 08:03 AM

There is similar thing, beetle ute wise rinning around Newcastle. I saw it out at Cardiff some time ago

Phil74Camper - April 16th, 2009 at 08:53 AM

That one has WA plates on it.

I remember Beetle Wreckers at Brookvale in Sydney had one very much like that back in the 1980s.

VeeDubua - April 16th, 2009 at 07:41 PM

I sold the ute to a guy in NSW. Was it used as a work car at the wreckers or was it wrecked?

Phil74Camper - April 17th, 2009 at 07:08 AM

No it was a work vehicle, with 'Beetle Wreckers' sign writing on the doors. No idea what became of it.

Question from a newbie How hard would something like this be to get through QLD rego... or would it be all too hard.....
Thanks

Bizarre - April 17th, 2009 at 10:46 AM

Seeing as it is only a body modification i dont think it would be THAT hard

RISKYBUG - April 17th, 2009 at 04:54 PM

i like it !!
but looks like there are a few oil leaks :sniffle:
just fill the bucket up then put it back in

VeeDubua - April 17th, 2009 at 07:27 PM

No it didn't have any leaks I was doing an oil change at the time the photo was taken and the stains are from my brother's old Shuttle.

This wasn't a kit we made it all from scratch including using a metal plate for the rear of the cabin.

kroozzn63 - April 17th, 2009 at 09:22 PM

so is it easy to get NEW nsw rego if i were selling the kits ,being that theres no chassis shortening? but the shell is chopped?

68AutoBug - April 18th, 2009 at 12:07 AM

yes, I've seen one around Newcastle..

Penfolds' at Georgetown had one in their yard for a while, don't think it was registered and it wasn't red, that was going back a couple of years.
