Ideally I'd like something I can restore but will look at others.

Thanks Craig, I did see that one. Unfortunately out of my price range at the moment unless I can sell my 2003 turbo beetle( not having much interest).

What about thie on on eBay for just under 10k? In Victoria. Search for Volkswagen Safari or thing 1976. Looks pretty good.

Yes I've been talking with him, he has someone keen apparently and I'm too far away to risk driving down for a car that may be sold. Will know more tomorrow.

If you are going to restore it 20k is a good price, will prob spend more than that in the end if you buy a rusty one..

Thanks, I rang Rod and he has one and is sending pics thru. Just reading a just cars mag at a friends place and saw one advertised and got all excited, rang and it was sold 12 mths ago. Thought I was reading the current mag but it was a year old.

So it's been 4 years since I first started looking and I still haven't bought one. Of the ones I have inspected they all seem to have dodgy repairs and are overpriced. Maybe I'm too fussy. Some that sounded good over the phone have sold before I could find time to inspect.
Anyone got one for sale? I'm prepared to spend up to $20k.
