lucas oil additive

got a slight whine in my gear box was thinking of putting in some lucas additive has anybody had any good or bad experiances

I have used Nuylon product similar makes the gears slippery but wont take a whine out of the bearings
will most possible prolong the failure is there any metal on the mag drain plugs

Chunks or just filings?
I used to use Slick50 but it's just a PTFE solution so anything similar will suffice. It'll quiet things down a little but worn bearings means that
things can move more than they should and hence where the noise comes from. YOu could try and find some thicker oil as that could take up the slack
for a while.
