Window rubber recommendation
modnrod - June 4th, 2017 at 04:03 PM

The window rubber kit I have is "German" apparently.
The rear side windows went in OK, really tight but staying put OK, but the back window must be cut wrong or something.
It doesn't sit deep enough around the glass, and so the fitment on the frame of the car is at least 10mm too big to fit inside the recess.
I haven't been game to try the front yet..........

West Coast Metric is on the agenda (should've just gone with instinct and ordered it first probably, but got sucked in by the "German" thing!........), but before I get the front and rear seals has anyone had any good/bad/indifferent reports about the rubbers that the window glass people use?
Obviously the stuff fits I guess, at least when they do it, but have the rubbers lasted OK in the sun without shrinking/cracking/leaking, etc?

Thanks for any experience.
Regards,
Dave

Yeah gday.

As I said, I should've just plonked for WCM from the start really.

I go for WW or Custom and Commercial German quality. Never had an issue with either of them. I found both to be better quality than WCM but all up it's one of those 3 or nothing. Anything else seems to be poorly made and more like flexible plastic than rubber.

I pay to have them fitted just cos if they break the window it's on their insurance :)
