wots the best way to go.........
I have a 1.8l subaru engine, with a weber, and dont want to use a standard cleaner
matt
use whatever K&N style cotton gauze reuseable pod style filter you can fit.
Or a K&N replacement for the stock filter

The main problem I didn't like is the fact that the rear wheels, are putting dirt right up to where the air is being sucked in
I realise that it has a filter on it.
Whats everyone else use, for offroad use
Just make some deflector plates to stop the rear wheels throwing stuff in the air cleaners. A piece of metal / alloy / plastic / road sign will work
good.
As for air cleaners I use K&N cotton gauze filters. When I go offroad I also put an extra foam sock filter over top of the K&N's as a
prefilter. I made my sock prefilters from some 5mm foam cut and glued into the right shape to cover the K&N's.
We both know that a Donaldson with a cyclic pre filter is teh way to go, why don't you just admit it ??
