can some one please put me through the correct procedure of lowering the beetle front end i already have adjusters it just needs to be dropped a few
more metres i ment inches!!
cheers mattie
I had the screw in / screw out type adjusters on my front end. I didn't know which way was up or down, so I wound 'em all the way in - then
measired the height of the front off the grond; then wound 'em all the way out and measured.
What type of adjusters have you got?
BTW: that front beam of mine was bent so now I have one that I cut the centre 4" out of one of the leaves in the TOP beam; hopefully for a drop
of about 2" I've been told.
i also have the screwin screw out ones i think it will go down further than 2 " ive seen cars go down further than 6" on these do you know
how to make them go down further it looks silly that high
cheers mattie
I had adaptors welded into the front of My beetle's torsion tubes, but they were welded at the incorrect angle, so I have had to EXTEND
the SLOT in the outer tubes downwards.... to lower My Beetle about 2" or more.... also , to be able to cut the slots lower, I had to cut the
adjusting brackets off and I used a locking nut to stop the slot from moving up... they probably won't move anyway. as ALL the weight on the
front end, pushes the screw in the tube Downwards.... NOT upwards... I hope You can understand this OK... it was all dutch to me before I
started.... Lee

Gee nice pic 68 Is that you????
If your adjusters have been welded at the wrong angle you wont be able to go down to far, if you got them put in by somebody take it back and get them to do it properly, if you did it yourself just cut them out and re weld them angled down a bit more. Ive only got adjusters and mines down about 5 inches.
the adjusters are in correctly i had it done at volksfactory but i cant rember how to lower the little bugger which bolts do loosen the only bit i can
rember is no weight on the front beam SOMEONE HELP PLEASE
