electronic ignition on ebay

Saw this on Ebay I have read the long thread on electronic ignition and was wondering where this would fity in ,anyone running something like this?

at $85 US ouch...

the ones to be ordered off ben from the prev post should work the same but will be much cheaper.

Not as I understand it. The ones Ben had were points replacement only. The eBay ones replace points and boost ignition output.

I think you'll find it's the same thing: the "boosts performance" comes from the fact the electronic pickup doesn't need the points gap, so it will produce a better "dwell angle" in effect, allowing it to produce the best spark possible with a stock-style coil at higher revs. The electronics in these units is mass-produced in asia and is the same in most of these units.

Oops, just had a look and it does include a high-energy box, but you could still do just as well with a cheaper "ignitor" and a local high-energy ignition box - if you're really stuck, I can get a local kit and assemble it for cost.
