First VW at drags from 70's
alansvw - September 3rd, 2016 at 03:16 PM

Found these old photos of my first vw with a big motor 2180cc with 46mm webers, built by The Bug In and Adrian the mechanic. I delivered it from the dealership to Neutral bay with 25 ks on the clock and they went to work. Ran 13.01 running in. I drove to Qld and back every few weeks and never missed a beat.

I'm in the pic, the guy on right. the other guy is Adrian Corvesy who built the engine. It ran 13.01 on the day but the engine was really only 2 weeks old and from memory the fan belt was slipping and the tyres weren't ideal for the drags. never took it to the drags again. I owned it for a few years before selling to a girl, not sure what happened to it after that.
