HappyDaze - November 26th, 2013 at 02:28 PM

Hope to get it registered before Christmas.

My 'spare' 356 engine now has a new home, so it should get along nicely.....has 356 brakes to match.

Bizarre - November 26th, 2013 at 05:37 PM

its beautiful!

You going to take it out on the track??

1303Steve - November 26th, 2013 at 05:45 PM

Very nice Greg, what are colours called?

HappyDaze - November 26th, 2013 at 06:12 PM

No track work for this one.

Steve, I spent a lot of time over those colours. The blue is a Mercedes colour called....wait for it...'DARK BLUE' :!:

Side panels are VW...New Beetle 'HARVEST MOON".

OZ Towdster - November 26th, 2013 at 06:30 PM

Stunning Greg , and some nice upgrades too .
Is that a tacho in the dash centre , and if so is it a VDO unit that matches the speedo or something else

HappyDaze - November 26th, 2013 at 06:35 PM

It's a VDO tacho, ex. 356. It does match something else.....the 356 engine and brakes.

Culo - November 26th, 2013 at 06:46 PM

Now registered.....time to clock up some miles.

I forgot how much fun a stock-suspension, swing-axle Beetle was....especially with the 356 engine.:smirk:

nbturbo - December 11th, 2013 at 03:03 PM

Very nice resto Greg-well done. You were at it for a few years then.Weren't you chasing bits for the roof in 09 when we were in the US.Perfect colour combo and rims to suit.

HappyDaze - December 11th, 2013 at 04:59 PM

Thanks Gary. I wondered how I came to have all those bits.

Remember when I managed to get hold of a Cabriolet semaphore [very rare], and the bitch at US customs made me pull all my parts apart, and tested them for explosives.

Good trip, that......and a lot of fun to boot.

Bizarre - December 11th, 2013 at 05:24 PM
