Meet Pattie the Tramp... Pea for short

That's right, it came with the larger engine bay. Loved my 72 with type 4 motor.

Lads Pattie's engine is standard 1600 but with twin Dellorto carbs. From all accounts she goes nice...I pick her up end of next week... so i'll wait & see. Nothing like a road trip to get friendly.

Few more pics.

Sunset Garage - March 29th, 2015 at 01:53 PM

Love the 'fat biscuit' double stitched upholstery with colour matched piping. Really suits the bus well & steering wheel too. Beautiful.

wombatventures - March 29th, 2015 at 05:54 PM

Awesome bus Shaven.

Cant beat a dirty green lowie with a few shiny bits.

Looks like it was a pop-top camper at one stage and after they realised that rust was eating it away from under the pop-top they decided to ditch the pop top, fixed the rust and installed the Paris Beetles roof?

Anyway - it makes for a very good hot weather bus....

matberry - March 30th, 2015 at 12:25 PM

Great looking bus :tu: :tu:

Cheers Scotty,
Yeah had a pop top on it. Installed the slider ;o)
Was a panel. It was built as part of a TV show last year I believe. There was a lot of $$$ spent on it. Most of the bus is original paint. All the repairs have been blown in to match. Now has 3 layers of lacquer to protect that beautiful patina.

Mate really unsure. It was done last year as part of a TV rest show... then final touches done over time I believe... I'll find out more when I pick it up this weekend ;o)

shaven - April 17th, 2015 at 06:17 PM

Went for a cruse the other day...

shaven - April 17th, 2015 at 07:53 PM

I remember the old days when someone would say "Matty look at that Rack" ... how times change :fake sniff:

I was going to re-lacquer it but you can not beat the old linseed oil.
