79 Panelvan
Glen75 - March 19th, 2016 at 07:29 AM

Here is a few pics of my project. She started as a tired/rusty 79 bay window. Since we have converted it to low light panel van. There was plenty of metal work done to remove all the rust and bring her back to 100%- then it was sandblasted before being painted.

It will run a wayne penrose 2.7ltr type 4 with Haltech EFI and 911 cooling fan. Dave butler rebuilt the box with Albins gears.

I know the purists may not like the conversion, but anyway here is some pics

Very nice work mate!

My bus is also a panel, but has had windows cut into it, they are crappy caravan ones. I am planning to sheet the back ones back and add stock windows in the middle.

I think we all want to see pictures of that engine combo!!

Smiley :)

Well done, I like it.

That's great work.
Love the combination of year models.
The old and the older.

Not usually jealous of late buses, but that is GREAT!

Very impressive work and it is looking fantastic. I remember driving a window panel van for Wards Express couriers in the early 80's with the 2 litre automatic and they flew along the road when they were empty so this should have some pretty stunning performance with that engine in it.

Bus is now in getting the exhaust done. Along with surge tank and alloy door cards.

Should be on the road before mid year if all goes to plan.
